OSCAR WINNERS IN BELGRADE

The 52nd Belgrade Festival the best among the best ones.

On the Festival this year you will also have the opportunity to see a few Oscar winners, such as: for the best animation film, SUNDAE IN NEW YORK, by Jimmy Picker, 4'13'', (1983), (Programme The New NY ANIMATION). The same programme is going to be closed by Bill Pympton ' s film GARD DOG, 4'37'', (2005), nominated for the Oscar this year. The Belgrade audience and their guests are also going to see this year's best animation film BIRTHDAY BOY, by Sejong Park ( Australia ), 10', 2005, nominated for the Oscar this year, as well.

THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION CATEGORY also includes the best animation in this year, RAYAN, by Chris Landreth ( Canada ), 14', 2005.

In the last moment, this year's Oscar winner for the best feature-length documentary was obtained. That is the film BORN INTO BROTHELS: CALCUTTA 'S RED LIGHT KIDS, by Ross Kauffman & Zana Briski, 85', 2005 (Programme RED LIGHT FOCUS). This film comes to us, just like a member of the jury, Mrs. Ally Derks, from the Festival in Amsterdam - IDFA, presently the most important festival of documentary film in the world.
