Antonis Papadopulos, Member of the Festival Jury this year

Mr. Antonis Papadopulos, the Director of the Festival of Short Meter in Drama ( Greece ), who presented a programme of short Greek films at our Festival last year, this year is a member of the Jury at the 52nd Festival of Documentary and Short Film. Just like in the past, for some of the films for which Papadopulos is judging in the Domestic Competition Programme, there will be a place at the Festival in Drama as well. Since recently, Papadopulos is the President of the Film Sector of the Greek Ministry of Culture, which means that in future he will be responsible for the production, co-productions, selling and promotion of the Greek films in the world. He says that he is glad that two Greek short feature films are included in the Competition Programe of the Belgrade Festival, as according to him they are the two best films made in Greece last year. With all his jobs and engagements, Papadopulos is also lecturing on film direction at the University of Salonica . Contrary to the change of the venue of the Belgrade Festival, that he finds pleasing, in Drama nothing has changed for a long time. Last September, thee Festival in Drama celebrated its 10 th jubilee, and it has been lasting for 28 years altogether. This Greek Festival of Short Meter screens more than 200 films, out of which 80 to 100 are in the international selection from more than 40 countries. As far as the Belgrade Festival is concerned, Papadopulos observes certain advance in respect to the programme and the quality of the programme comparing to last year. It is nice to hear that, especially from a member of the Jury.
