PROGRAMME VIP EVROPA
PROGRAMME VIP EVROPA-PRI UIP (United Internacional Picture) that the Art director, Vera Vlajic named VIP Europe, found its place on the Festival upon a recommendation of a Belgrade director Stefan Arsenijevic, who won this award in 2004, and it arrived thanks to the kindness of Mrs. Betina Schvartz from the European Film Academy , although we are not its member. It includes the winners of the former European film award “Felix”. The programme consists of twelve short films awarded at the most significant festivals held during the year. About the reasons for proposing this programme to our Festival, Stefan Arsenijevic says: “It seems to me that it represents an interesting review of the European production of the short films. As the President of the European Film Academy , Nikola Jopetze is coming to Belgrade , our authors will have an opportunity to get the information about the way in which they can find themselves in a selection of these films, but also to learn about the themes that the European authors are interested in. I find it interesting that the films recorded on a video can also enter into that selection, as our authors, because of the lack of funds, mainly shoot films in that way. Among the films there are also short feature, animation and documentary films, although there aren't many of these last ones. I have seen these films this year, as a member of the Academy, the member of which I became by winning the European Film Award (“(A)TORZIJA”), and I have even had a chance to vote for some of them. This programme should encourage the domestic authors to send their films to the festivals worldwide as well as to introduce them into the tendencies in the European film, which promote first of all the difference. We, as it seems to me, can easily find a place in that selection as I believe in the domestic film.”
